Frequently Asked Questions
Q. You're a member of the Association of Daily Money Managers. What's a Daily Money Manager?
A DMM is an experienced financial professional who helps clients keep on top of their everyday personal monetary responsibilities. We adhere to a strict code of ethics and very high standards of practice. Click here to learn more about AADMM and the services that members like me provide.
Q. Are you a CPA or a Certified Fiduciary or financial planner or other licensed advisor?
No; however, I often serve as a liaison to clients' licensed financial and legal professionals. Should you require services of a licensed professional, I will be happy to provide a referral to one of my trusted associates in the appropriate field.
Q. What methods do you use to keep track of a client's finances?
I mostly use Quicken for Windows, which is designed for personal financial management and which is a great tool for recording transactions for personal budget & tax purposes, and for tracking net worth. I use QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online for clients who also need assistance with their small business bookkeeping.
Q. Do you offer business bookkeeping?
I offer limited business bookkeeping to small business owners only when I am also handling their personal finances. Most of my business bookkeeping is for sole proprietors or passive income ventures, and involves income & expense tracking, bill-paying, and reporting. I do not provide invoicing, payroll or other business financial services, but work closely with service providers who do to ensure that all business bookkeeping needs are met.
Q. What is remote technical support and how do you provide it?
Remote support involves me working on your computer from my office using ConnectWise Control. If you request this service, I'll send you a link that allows both of us to connect to a shared support session. No software is installed on your device. You simply click and launch the downloaded file, which enables me to see and work with your device's desktop. I can provide training, answer questions, or fix simple software problems this way, without you having to schedule and pay for a separate in-person appointment.
Q. Can you provide references?
Absolutely! I'm happy to share contact information for clients, past employers, licensed professionals (CPAs, financial advisors, etc.) and others who are familiar with my work and character.
